🎯 Role and Responsibilities
As the Senior Agriculture Officer, you’ll be responsible for:
- Designing and supervising agricultural and agro-industrial projects.
- Promoting value chain development, particularly in crop, livestock, and fisheries sectors.
- Enhancing private sector involvement and SME growth in agriculture.
- Supporting the setup of agro-processing hubs and farm-to-market systems.
- Advising on agricultural policies and enabling environments.
- Working closely with regional stakeholders, government agencies, and donors to ensure projects align with local needs and strategic goals.
You will also contribute to the Country Strategy Paper for Ghana, providing deep insights into agriculture’s role in national development.
💼 What Makes You a Strong Candidate?
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- A master’s degree in agriculture, rural development, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in agricultural project design, implementation, and sector strategy.
- Strong understanding of agricultural value chains, policy development, and donor-funded project cycles.
- Proven project management skills and a client-focused, results-driven mindset.
- Fluency in English or French (with working knowledge of the other language).
- Ghanaian nationality or legal right to work in Ghana (no relocation or work permit sponsorship is provided).
Experience working with multilateral development institutions or international NGOs is a plus.
